    What specifically does Unwired Nation mean by “interactive” when referring to its services?

    While many mobile platforms provide simple one-way notifications, Unwired Nation’s platform is inherently two-way. It allows users to receive notifications, respond and take action to notifications, and pull information from your applications while away from their computer in a real-time fashion. For instance, users can interact by touch-tone on phone calls, reply to SMS, take action on links within SMS messages, or click a dynamic button on your mobile application. All of these interactions can be relayed in real-time to communicate to your applications.

    Why would I use SMS, voice, or data together?

    These three technologies can complement one another by creating compelling mobile applications for your users. For example, a user can press a number on a phone call to receive a text message with details of a transaction or they can click a link in an SMS to either receive a phone call or be rerouted directly to a mobile landing page. Clicking a button on an application to call customer service or clicking a link to load a mobile application is another instance of how the three modalities can work together.

    What do you mean by “easy to integrate” and how does this work?

    Unwired Nation provides an XML over HTTPS API for accessing our platform. Developers have compared the complexity to that of integrating Google maps or Facebook into their website. Register HERE to get API documentation and see for yourself.

  • Pricing & Billing

    How much do I pay per minute/message/API call?

    We don’t charge by the unit, we use a revenue sharing model whereby we split the fees you charge your users for mobile features powered by our platform.

    Can I bundle mobile services into my current offering without any additional charges to my users?

    Yes! We can support this by charging a minimum fee per user per month.

    How does revenue share work, who collects payout and what are the terms for partner payouts?

    Our typical revenue share is a 50/50 split of what you charge your users for mobile features. You are responsible for registering and billing users. User terms may vary from partner to partner but the standard arrangement is NET 15 from the end of each month. For example, Unwired Nation’s share for the month of May is due by June 15.

    What are my options in billing my users?

    How you bill your customers depends entirely upon your revenue model. That said, typically, our customers fall into two camps: 1) They charge their users a monthly fee for access to mobile features and split the revenue with us 50/50 or 2) They don’t charge their users at all and pay Unwired Nation a monthly minimum per user because the service accelerates their business and justifies the cost.     How does Unwired Nation account for and report on registered/authorized users?

    Will it cost my users to receive messages?

    Other than what you charge your users for mobile features, standard messaging, minutes, and data charges may apply. These rates vary by wireless provider.

    If the services on my website are currently free, does it make sense to start charging my users?

    Users have proven that they are willing to pay for mobile services. If there is a need to access your services remotely, a segment of your users will be willing to pay for the convenience this mobile access provides.

    Can I call users internationally? Are there limitations to whom I can call with your platform?

    Yes, we support international calling. Additional surcharges may apply. Contact us about your specific coverage needs.

    Is this a live person and/or computer voice (TTS) calling my users?

    Our system is an automated system that uses a high quality voice recording complemented by dynamic audio/TTS where necessary.

    Do I have to build and/or host the voice app?

    No, Unwired Nation extends your existing applications by building and hosting the voice user interface. No VoiceXML experience is required on your part, simply integrate with our API to extend the user experience to mobile.

    Do you support ASR? TTS? Multiple languages? Inbound applications?

    Yes, we support ASR and TTS in multiple languages. Inbound calling applications are fully supported. Please contact us to discuss your specific opportunity.

    Why Unwired Nation’s platform vs. hosted IVR software providers?

    • User data is sensitive. We serve as a mobile extension to your existing applications. The user data and the logic behind those applications reside with you-there’s no need to share sensitive user data with us to extend your applications with our platform.
    • We do not charge professional services fees for developing your voice applications.
    • We do not expect you to build and deploy VoiceXML applications.

    What’s your geographical coverage? Do you support both mobile origination (MO) and mobile termination (MT)?

    We support both domestic and international MO and MT. Additional surcharges may apply for international. Contact us about your specific coverage needs.

    • We focus on the value versus the volume.
    • There are no minimums on volume for applications.
